How do I get from the airport to Park City? Is there a shuttle?

  • It is 35 miles / approximately 40 minute drive from the Salt Lake City airport to the Grand Summit Hotel in Park City.
  • You are welcome to rent a car if you would like to explore the area during your visit. Complimentary parking is available at the hotels.
  • All Resort Express is offering our attendees a discounted shuttle rate to and from the airport.  Please call 800-457-9457 to make your reservation and reference Audubon Convention 2017.  The discounted rate is $30 one way.  Shuttles leave the airport every 15 minutes.  Shuttles back to the airport will be coordinated based on flight times.

Do I need to register for the Convention once I am checked in?

  • Yes. Registration will be open at the Grand Summit Hotel in the Kokopelli Ballroom Foyer at the following dates and times.
  • Thursday, July 13th: 1-7pm
    Friday, July 14th: 7:30am-6pm
    Saturday, July 15th: 8am-5pm
    Sunday, July 16th: 8am-5pm

What should I wear at the Convention?

  • Casual attire. Layers are recommended as it will be cool in the evening and warm during the day.

What else should I bring?

  • Please bring sunscreen, bug spray, hats and/or bandanas, and be sure to drink plenty of water.
  • The Grand Summit Hotel sits at 6,600 feet in elevation which is much higher than the majority of us are used to.  Start drinking lots of water before you arrive and stay hydrated throughout your trip because it helps your body acclimate to the altitude faster.  Be cautious drinking alcohol as it can suppress breathing rates which causes lower levels of oxygen in the blood. 

What meals are included with the Convention?

  • Daily breakfast is included in your hotel cost.
  • Daily lunch is included in your registration fee.
  • Friday Night – Welcome Reception: Meet and Greet Your Peers from Across the Flyways
    • Included in registration fee. Alcoholic beverages are available to purchase at your own expense.
  • Saturday Night – Audubon Convention Banquet with Awards Presentations and a Conversation with Kenn Kaufman
    • $65 per person. Alcoholic beverages are available to purchase at your own expense.
  • Sunday Night – Outdoor Community Barbecue and Networking (With Special Feathered Guests)
    • Included in registration fee. Alcoholic beverages are available to purchase at your own expense.

I brought a guest/family member. Can they attend the Convention?

  • Guests and family members are welcome to join the sessions, field trips, and the Saturday night banquet. They will need to register as a Convention attendee if they wish to join the sessions.  Field trips and the Saturday night banquet can be registered for separately.
  • If your guest would like to attend the daily lunch, Friday Welcome Reception and/or the Sunday Barbecue, please email convention@audubon.org to learn more about guest pricing.
  • Children are not permitted to attend event dinners. Dinner attendees must be 21 years or older.

  • Complimentary bus transportation is available throughout Park City. Visit the hotel front desk to learn where the nearest bus stop is located on property.
